February 26, 1959 - November 30, 2025
Services to celebrate and remember the life of Mahlon Ray Andrews will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the chapel at DeLozier Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Winganon Cemetery where Mahlon will be laid to rest beside his mother. Mahlon passed away in Tulsa on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was 66 years old.
Born in Sand Springs, OK on February 26, 1959, to Loyd Andrews and Lettie (McDonald) Sullivan. Mahlon was raised and educated in the Tulsa area and graduated from Central High School. Always quick-witted, Mahlon would always tell people if you couldn't go to Central you could always go to Hale. He continued his education by taking some college courses. Mahlon was the father of 5 children, Mahlon II, Jon, Audrey, Maggie, and Tobin. Mahlon provided for his family running his own construction business.
A man that was unique in so many ways. Mahlon lived life his way. He was a naturalist at heart and enjoyed the outdoors. In fact, his children said his happy place would be a beach in South America if it had a hammock. Mahlon liked to camp in the desert and one of his favorite destinations was Big Bend National Park. Biking with his kids on different trails was another past time. If you ever wanted to travel with Mahlon, it always included driving because he would not fly. In fact, his son said because of that he had been in 48 of the 50 states. A definite dog lover, and of course it had to be a Gordon Setter. According to his family he had 8 throughout his life. Another interesting thing about Mahlon was he said he liked canoeing but according to his family it was always done in a Kayak.
A man that if he was your friend, you knew it. Always willing to help and more importantly giving you that open invitation to his home. He was a man that you could take at his word, and a handshake would seal the deal. Mahlon has left a legacy and huge footprint that will live on in the lives of his family and friends. Mahlon is survived by his children, Mahlon Andrews II and wife Jamie, Jon Anddrews and wife McKenna, Maggie Andrews, Tobin Moss and Audrey Steinberg, grandchildren, Matthew Andrews, Dexter Andrews, Jimmy Andrews, and Meghan Lee, brothers, Rusty Andrews and wife Teresa and Russell Andrews and wife Terrie and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Mahlon was preceded in death by his parents Lettie Sullivan and Johnny "Pops" Sullivan, and his brother Arnie.
