Larry J. Crisp
March 29, 1947 - July 5, 2024
Larry John Crisp, 77-year-old Inola resident, passed away Friday evening July 5, 2024, at the Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born on March 29, 1947, in Oklahoma City to Walter and Anna Belle (McQueen) Crisp. Larry grew up in Chouteau, and graduated from Chouteau High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from November 1966 until November 1969, during the Vietnam era. On October 23, 1981, he married the love of his life, Margaret Gayle (Unrau) Crisp. Larry worked for Williams Construction as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Eden Mennonite Church near Inola. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids sports, and other activities, he liked to go boating and fishing, ride motorcycles, camping in his early years, bragging on his kids and spending time with his loving family. Larry was also instrumental in the Paralyzed Veterans Association Fishing Tournaments.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Gayle in 2016, his parents, and siblings, Alice Fine, Daniel Harold Crisp, Judy Crane, Lanny McQueen, Charles Crisp, and Freida Fitzgerald.
The surviving family includes his children, David Crisp and wife Laura of Bixby, Shawn Crisp and wife Jill of Broken Arrow, Dustin Crisp and wife Beth of Skiatook, Josh Crisp and wife Amanda of Broken Arrow, Jared Crisp and wife Stephanie of Pryor, Shanon Crisp of Plano, Texas, sister, Debra Hassinger of Wichita, Kansas, brother, Wally Crisp and wife Yvonne of Broken Arrow, eight grandchildren, Makaya, Anna, Audrey, Dane, Addison, Colt, Hudson, and Margot, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives as well.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Stephens-Key Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor.
The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Eden Mennonite Church near Inola, Pastor David Wiens will officiate. Interment will follow at the Eden Mennonite Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Fort Sill Army Honor Guard.
