Parthine Wells, an old and highly respected Christian lady, living five miles northwest of Rankin, died April 12, 1907 at the home of her son William Wells, of heart failure and infirmities due to old age.

Mrs. Wells was born in Bath County, Kentucky, July 22, 1825.

She was united in marriage to Robert Wells.

Nine children were born to bless this union, eight of whom are left to mourn her death.

She united with the Christian Church in 1871 and lived a consistent member of the same until it pleased the Lord to call her home.

She had lived to do His bidding and was only waiting when the summons came.

Her remains were laid to rest in the Rankin {now White Rose} Cemetery.
