Janie Thomas was born August 5, 1876 at Macomb, Illinois, and passed away at her daughter's home March 11, 1968, at the age of 91 years 8 months and 6 days.
She was united in marriage to Edward Wells March 10. 1896, at Harrisonville, Missouri. To this union were born eight children.
They moved from Missouri to Oklahoma in 1900 and filed on land north of Reydon.
Except for a few years spent living in Illinois, she has lived in the Reydon community for 60 years.
She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson.
She leaves to mourn her children, Alex Wells, Lila Wells and Sadie Polk of Reydon; Cynthis Williams of Darrouzett, Texas; Robert Wells of Arnett; Mary Rebbons of Hammond, Indiana; Zeldo Crawford of Camargo, Oklahoma; Eunice Wilson of Ft. Supply; twenty one grandchildren, Darrell Wells of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Wanda Gypson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Bob Wells of California; Ida Mae Stevenson of Clovis, New Mexico; Juanita Pierce of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Arnold Miller of Allison, Texas; Ted Polk of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Thomas Polk of Reydon, Oklahoma; Marilyn Miller of Wichita, Kansas; Edward Donlovey of Topanga Canyon, California; Robert Roy Wells of California; Gary Wells of Woodward, Oklahoma; John Wells of North Vernon, Indiana; Fred Johnson of North Vernon, Indiana; Billie Sibley of Fritch, Texas; William Wells of Woodward, Oklahoma; Roy Lee Wells of Butlerville, Indiana; J. D. Wilson, of Bethel, Kansas; Bob Joe Wilson of Kansas City, Kansas; Ronald Wilson of Ft. Supply, Oklahoma; S/Sgt. Jesse J. Wilson of Germany; forty eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister and one brother; a host of other relatives and friends.
She was laid to rest in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
Services by John Spurlin and Leland Burch.
Pallbearers were Kenneth King, Percey Minard, Melvin Butler, Ralph Coon, Martin Scrivner and John Lucas.
