J. T. Porter © Cheyenne Star 24-Aug-2006 Submitted by: Wanda Purcell J. T. Porter was born May 6, 1930 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Maggie and Alva Porter. He passed away August 14, 2006 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 8 days.
J. T. grew up in the Reydon community and attended school at Meridian and Reydon.
He was married to Evelyn Fae Robison Porter at Hammon, Oklahoma on March 1, 1952.
They moved to Pampa, Texas where he worked for Davis Construction until 1953 when they moved back to Reydon to make their home where they farmed and ranched until 1984.
J. T. had esophageal cancer and then in 2003 he returned to farming and ranching until his death.
He loved to play with his grandchildren and he was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Laffie Wood; one grandson, Tony Porter; and one brother, Herschelle Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of the home; three children, James Porter and wife, Dianna of Reydon, Oklahoma; Billy Porter and wife, Donna of Reydon, Oklahoma; and Shirley Porter Roane and husband, Wilbur of Porter, Texas; six grandchildren, Joey Porter, Stephen Porter, Gena Porter, Hope Porter, Lisa Roane, and Jeremy Roane; two great grandchildren, Katy Porter and Jessi Porter; one brother, Ervie Porter and wife, Anna Lee of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Dean Robison, Follett, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.

Evelyn Fae Robison Porter was born January 11, 1935 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Orville Bliss and Dora Mae (Abbott) Robison. She passed away at her home near Reydon, Oklahoma on February 5, 2019 at the age of 84.

(permission granted)Evelyn attended school at Reydon and married JT Porter on March 1, 1952 at Hammon, Oklahoma. Born to this union were three children: James, Billy and Shirley. Evelyn and JT lived in Pampa, Texas and in 1953 moved back to Reydon to make their home where they farmed and ranched. Evelyn worked alongside JT on the farm and loved to sew and take care of others. Evelyn won many ribbons at the county fair for her sewing, quilting, baking, canning and flowers. But, her passion in life was her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Wiggles.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Dora Mae Abbott Robison and three brothers, Donald Ray Robison, James Franklin Robison and Norman Dale Robison, Sr., her husband of 54 years, JT Porter, one grandson, Tony Porter and one son-in-law, Wilbur Roane, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, James Porter and wife, Diann and Billy Porter and wife, Donna, all of Reydon, OK; one daughter, Shirley Porter Roane, Porter, TX; six grandchildren, Joey Porter and wife, Mindy, Stephen "Jr." Porter and wife, Ashley, Hope Porter, Gina Porter, Lisa Roane and Jeremy Roane; great grandchildren, Katy, Jessi, Adalynn, Thomas, Jordan, Andy, Ashton, Taylor, Bailey and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Reydon Church of Christ.
Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
