William Crandal Chatfield was born August 22, 1861 in Will County, Illinois and passed away on his 89 birthday, August 22, 1950, at his home in Reydon.

He moved with his parents to Nebraska when a boy. He married Miss Jennie Strain, Sept. 26, 1886 at Ord, Nebraska. To this union was born three children, all of whom are living. His wife passed away February 14, 1917 at La Plats, Mo.

Mr. Chatfield was a member of the Methodist Church and a good neighbor and a loving father.

He married Mrs. Anna Herzberg in Pueblo, Colorado, November 16, 1932. they have spent all of their married life in the Reydon community. He was a devoted husband and took all the care of his wife, who has been in a wheel chair since December, 1932. He was a good father to his three step children and they loved him dearly.

Those who mourn his passing are his wife, Mrs. Anna Chatfield, his children, Mrs. Viola Gross of Kirksville, Mo., Walter J. Chatfield of Morrison, Colorado and Crandall Chatfield of St. Joseph, Mo. Three step-children, Floyd Herzberg, Cheyenne, Violet Tonsley, Lowell, Ark. and Mrs. Ira Douglass, Reydon, Okla. Three brothers, John of Ord, Nebraska, Henry of Ames, Iowa and Otho of Richfied, Idaho. Six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and fourteen step grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Community Building August 24, 1950, by Rev. J.L. Davis, assisted by Rev. H. Woodard. Burial White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma withe Moore Funeral Home in charge.

Relatives from a distance were his daughter, Mrs. Viola Gross and daughters, Mrs. Minor Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beach of Kirksville, Mo., Mrs. Chatfield's sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Clay E. Fee of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Fountain, Colo.
