Mozelle Sweetman Barker was born May 9, 1923 in Allen, Oklahoma to Montie and Jess Sweetman and passed away August 6, 1997 in the Baptist Medical Center at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Mozelle moved to western Oklahoma between Sweetwater and Reydon as a small child.
She married Jesse Taylor Barker on October 5, 1938 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
They moved to California remaining there for a few years before moving back to Oklahoma where they made their home in the Reydon community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son James Taylor Barker; and two brothers, B. I. and Ivan VanLoon.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Jessie and Troy Harmon of Pocasset, Oklahoma; Shirley and Arnett Bryan of Pampa, Texas; Willene and Don Burks of Mobeetie, Texas; and Patsy Ann and John H. Brown of Elk City, Oklahoma; one sister, Yvonne of Oakland, California; thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were August 9, 1997 at the White Rose Cemetery officiated by Alberta Helton with burial at the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
