Funeral services were conducted April 21, 1972 at Reydon, Oklahoma for Jennie Catherine Rodgers Barbee who died April 19, 1972 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 19 days at Houston, Texas.
Dr. Charles Simpson of Oklahoma City, officiated with Rev. R. B. Weaver officiating also.
She was united in marriage to Henry E. Barbee, at Effingham, Illinois, February 22, 1911 and came to this area to start married life on a homestead with Henry who had been here a few years. Six children were born to this union, three daughters and one son, who were reared to adult life.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948, then she and her daughter, Erlene, lived in Reydon until 1 1/2 years ago, when they moved to Houston, Texas to be with Mary Woolsey, her daughter and A. D. Woolsey, her son-in-law.
She was a housewife and was a charter member of the Reydon Eastern Star Chapter.
Survivors include three daughters, Erlene Barbee of Reydon, Oklahoma; Lucille Page of Siatook, Oklahoma; Mary Woolsey of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Craig Barbee and Brant Barbee of Perryton, Texas; and Teddy Pope, Judy Pope, and Sue McCormick of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and one sister, Ceclia Short of Kansas, Illinois.
Interment was in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son officiating.
