George Marland Scott of this city died here last Wednesday morning.

Mr. Scott was born in Texas July 23, 1841.

He married Miss Alice Hall 48 years ago.

There were born to them nine children, seven of whom are now living.

He leaves his aged wife; seven children; thirty seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous friends to mourn his loss.

He was a devoted Christian for fifty years, a patient father and a kind husband.

His last words were "Death has no sting".

The relatives and friends of the departed desire to extend their thanks to the public generally for the kindness and sympathy extended to them in their sad hour of bereavement.

Interment was made in the Strong City cemetery.
