George Loyd Scott, former Strong City farmer and rancher, died Thursday September 7, 1967 at his home in Cheyenne following a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne with Rev. Robert Webb and George Frank, minister, officiating.
George was born October 1, 1895 at Weatherford, Texas.
Mr. Scott came to the Strong City community in 1898 with his parents.
He was married to Bertha Mae Bowman January 22, 1926 at Canadian, Texas.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of the home; three daughters, Billie Vincent of Lapunte, California; Betty Lamb of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Mrs. Lanna Mae Long of Monterey, California; four sons, George Jr. of Roswell, New Mexico; Bobby of Hugo, Oklahoma; Harold and Gary of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Edna Durham; two brothers, Claude and Arthur Scott of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and numerous friends.
Pall bearers were Champ Maddux, Dale Wesner, Lester Minor, Lester Pierce, Weldon Davis and Albert Maddux.
Committal was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
