Carrie Ethel Champlin Scott was born May 29, 1912 to George Nathan and Lillie Loula Champlin. She passed away April 24, 2000 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital of Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 25 days.

Carrie was a very special person; she was "Aunt Carrie" to many and was a best friend to everyone else who knew her.

She was one of the greatest cooks in the country. She would always be the first to bring food for whatever the occasion. To her nieces and nephews, she was considered the champion pie maker. Coconut cream and Syrup pies were her specialty.

She was faithful to give special attention to those in the hospital. She showered them with cards, flowers and gifts. Not only did she cater to those in the hospital, she also acknowledged many other occasions as well.

Carrie's greatest form of entertainment was a good game of 42. She was very competitive and hard to beat.

For everyone who knew Carrie, she will be greatly missed. She was one of the BEST.

She was married to Claude Scott at Elk City, Oklahoma on May 14, 1933.

She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Hattie Morine Champlin; one brother, Talmage C. "Billquot; Champlin; and a foster grandson, Claude Ray Herndon.

She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Alta Scott and Frances Scott, both of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one foster daughter and her husband, Delphenia Sue and Wendell Herndon of Hammon, Oklahoma; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services were held Friday, April 28, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiated by Milton Gage and Terrell Romberg.

Burial was in the Strong City Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
