Berniece Julia Toal Davis, died Thursday, November 25, 1976 in the Roger Mills County Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma after a short illness.

Berniece was born in Forney, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Mary Toal.

She married Frances Marion Davis, November 26, 1906 at Henrietta, Texas.

They moved to Roger Mills county in 1913. They were early farmers until their children reaced high school age and they sold their farm and moved to Strong City to make their home.

She was a member of the Strong City Baptist Church for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, twelve brothers and sisters, and a grandson and a granddaughter.

Survivors are six daughters, Ida Mae Ezzell of Sayre; Effie Lee Groves of Lake Isabelle, California; Alta Scott of Cheyenne; Berniece Ashley of Clinton, Oklahoma; Francis Scott of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Ruby Daw of Wichita Falls, Texas; one son, Weldon Davis of Strong City; fourteen grandchildren, twenty seven great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 26, 1976 at First Baptist Church, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Rev. Aubrey Cowan officated.

Interment followed in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne.
