Margie Wise Briggs was born October 10, 1927 in Perrin, Texas to Allie Jim and Bill Wise, Sr. and passed away May 8, 1994 in the Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 28 days.
Margie moved with her family to Seminole, Texas in 1942 and later moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1970 where she met Jessie Briggs and they were married on November 14, 1980 and remained in Hobbs.
In 1989 they moved to western Oklahoma where they lived in Reydon before moving to Arnett in April of 1990 to make their home.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Seminole, Texas and attended the Arnett First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Reba; and three brothers, W. S. Jr.; Dolan and Vernon.
She is survived by her husband Jessie of the home; one daughtter, Paula Dean of Denver City, Texas; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Ann Parker of Lewisville, Texas; four sisters Louise Beaty of Palo Pinton, Texas; Mary Darnell of Westland, Michigan; Katie Powers of Seminole, Texas; Corrine Fuller of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Dolan, Brian, Andrew, Justin and Misty Lynn; one great granddaughter Whitney; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 1994 at the Arnett First Baptist Church officiated by Terrell Romberg, and assisted by Bart Poole.
Interment was in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Memorial may be made to American Heart Association {Oklahoma Chapter} or Minnie R. Slief Library in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
