Norma Gene grew up on a farm near Crawford, Oklahoma and graduated with the Crawford Class of 1941. On October 29, 1941 she married William Nelson Selby and they made their home in the Reydon and Crawford area until 1952 when the family moved to Borger, Texas. In 1953 they bought a home in Phillips, Texas where they lived until Nelson retired in 1975 and then they moved house and all to the family farm near Reydon, Oklahoma. Due to poor health they moved to Clinton, Oklahoma in 1994 to be near her family. Norma Gene joined the United Pentecostal Church in 1949 and loved her Lord, doing His work for the next 65 years. She was a stay at home mom and loved her family and spent many hours on her knees praying for them.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband of 62 years, Nelson Selby, a son, Jackie Ray Selby,
a granddaughter, a great Granddaughter, one sister, Easter Davis and a
brother, Ray Davis.
She is survived by her a son, Roy Nelson Selby and
wife, Bonnie, Borger, TX, two daughters, Reta Hall and husband, Eugene,
Clinton, OK;, Reba Helms and husband, Steve, Monroe, NC, a
daughter-in-law, Carolyn Selby, Pampa, TX; seven grandchildren, Billy
McCoy, Durham, OK., Raylene Ray and husband, Tony, Foss, OK;, Gena
Morley, Clinton, OK;, Thurston Selby and wife, Ashley, Ladonia, TX;,
Wallace Selby, Chadron, NE, Austin Selby and wife, Shelly, Stinnett, TX,
Dr. Elwyn Martin, LaGrande , OR, sixteen great grandchildren, Travis
McCoy, Whitney Peach, Katy and Justin Ray, Ricky and Ethan Selby, Logan,
Lexi and Landon Donelson, Maci Morley, Elaine, Thurston, David, Daniel,
Kailyn and Warne Selby, two great great grandsons, Travis and Isaac
McCoy.
Services will be held Friday May 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. At Reydon Community Church.
Burial will be at Silent Home Cemetery under the
direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service
