Maggie "Toots" Powers was born July 11, 1929 on the family farm near Crawford, Oklahoma to Maggie and John Lucas. She passed away September 28, 2006 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 17 days.
Toots grew up at Crawford, Oklahoma and graduated from Crawford High school in 1947.
She was married to Delbert Powers at Canadian, Texas on December 3, 1947.
Toots and Delbert lived in Crawford, Reydon and Durham communities most of their lives. In 1975, Delbert's job took them to Custer City where they lived until 1982. In 1982, they returned to Roger Mills County where they retired and have since lived.
In 1993, Toots was baptized into Christ at the Cheyenne Church of Christ.
Toots enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Lucas; one brother, Claude Lucas; and one sister, Lila Grace Trainham.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert of the home; two sons, John Powers and wife Kay of Reydon, Oklahoma; Rick Powers and wife Susan of Reydon, Oklahoma: two daughters, Nelda Pennington and husband Don of Reydon, Oklahoma; Danna Kent and husband Monte of Arapaho, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Darla Rogers, Perry Pennington, Wesley Powers, Janna Markham, Gayla Smith, Audrey Kinnaman, Paul Powers, L. S. Powers, Lynsi Kent, Taylor Kent and Connie Kent; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Lucas of Sunray, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held on October 1, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Cheyenne Church of Christ officfiated by Chuck Milner and Earl Reed, assissting.
Burial was at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
