Funeral services for Julius Hamilton Powers will be held at 2:00 Sunday afternoon at the Silent Home Church near Roll with Reverend Willie W. Volght, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Sayre, officiating.
Mr. Powers died at the home of his son, G. W. Powers, near Durham, Oklahoma at 8:00 Friday morning, December 31, 1943 following an illness of four months.
He was born in Putman county, West Virginia, June 27, 1864 and died at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.
A long-time resident of Sayre and community, Powers came to Sayre in 1905 and lived here until six years ago when he moved to the home of his son at Durham.
Survivors are his wife, Julia Powers; one son G. W. Powers of Durham; one daughter, Mrs. Mae Ivie of Roswell, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Reeves of Sayre; one brother, George of Sayre; as well as other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Littrell-Scroggins Funeral Home in charge.
