Lennie Malson was born April 15, 1923 in Midway,
Oklahoma to Callie Dona and Samuel Warren Gillispie. She passed away May 19,
2016 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Lennie grew up on her family's farm in Midway, Oklahoma. She also attended
schools in Midway until the eighth grade when she solely helped her father
on the farm. Lennie was married to Willis Lyle Malson at Amarillo, Texas on
March 31, 1942. After their marriage they moved north of Crawford before
purchasing their own farm in 1959. Lennie went to work for the Crawford
schools as a cook and remained there until 1968 when she began baby-sitting
for some families in the area. In the late 70's she found employment at the
Cheyenne Nursing Home cooking for the residents and staff until her
retirement in 1980. Lennie found great pleasure in painting, quilting,
gardening and spending time with her family and especially her
grandchildren. She was also a member of the Crawford Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Bea Rollmann, 1
brother, Charles Gillispie; 3 sisters, Georgia Hartley, Callie Holmes and
Helen Hall; 1 daughter-in-law, Colleen Malson.
She is survived by her daughter, Teena Damron, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons,
Sam Malson, Grand Prairie, TX and Darrel Malson and wife, Dawn, Durham, OK;
1 son-in-law, Jay Rollmann, Oklahoma City, OK; 8 grandchildren, Rebecca
Malson, Grand Prairie, TX, Steven Malson, Arlington, TX, Dawn Kreger and
husband, K.C., Oklahoma City, OK, Brandy McBane and husband, Doug, Elk City,
OK, Stacey Morey and husband, Lee, Mustang, OK, Brad Rollmann and wife, Amy,
Azle, TX, Alecia Malson, Clinton, OK and Warren Malson and wife, Tiffany,
Durham, OK; 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandsons and a host of
other relatives and friends.
