Melvin A. Lutz was born July 23, 1914 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma and passed away October 10, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 89 years.
Melvin lived most of his life in California and worked as a cement contractor and had only lived in Las Vegas for one year.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Albright of Las Vegas; a brother, Rony Lutz of Las Vegas; and a sister, Margie McDaniel of Durham, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his companion, Lucy Sutterfield.
Burial will be at the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, on Saturday October 18, 2003.

Melvin A. Lutz was born July 23, 1914 in Oklahoma to Nellie and Theodore Lutz. He passed away October 9, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 16 days.
Mel attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was active in ROTC.
He moved to Antelope Valley, California from Durham, Oklahoma in 1941.
In 1942, he moved to the San Francisco Bay area to work in the shipyards, returning to the Antelope Valley in 1943. He lived and worked on the West Side doing farming and ranching until 1948, when he began his own cement contracting business. He was self employed, until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Rosamond, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandaughter, Kimber.
Graveside services were held Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma officiated by Ray Smart.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Survivors include his companion, Lucy Sutterfield of Rosamond, California; one daughter, Sandra Albright of Las Vegas, Nevada; one son, Rany Lutz of Grants Pass, Oregon; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Margie McDaniel of Durham, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
