Phyliss Joann Duke was born September 19, 1953 in Sherman, Texas to JoEl Estelle and Bobby Clayton Bonser. She passed away February 2, 2013 at Anadarko, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Phyliss, the child of military parents, grew up in several states including Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oregon and Alaska. She graduated from high school in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1971 and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Speech Therapy from USAO and later earned her Masters Degree in Psychometry from SWOSU. She worked as a speech therapist throughout western Oklahoma and retired in 2006 after many years of dedicated service. She was married to Jim Bill Duke at Arapaho, Oklahoma in 1993 and they lived in western Oklahoma to make their home. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Phyliss had a love for Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty and black and white movies. She had a remarkable giving spirit and put a smile on the faces and in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Dennis Lee Bonser, 1 sister-in-law, Jeannie Wesner, father-in-law, Ike Duke and mother-in-law, Doris Duke.
She is survived by her Husband, Bill, 1 Daughter and Daughters Boyfriend, Jenna JoEl Duke and Tyler McNamar, of the home; 3 Sisters, Lenda Diane Bonser, Tulsa, OK; Anita Joy Connally, Waxahachie, TX; Valerie JoEl Bonser and Danny Watkins, Cordell, OK; 1 Brother, Robert and Sandy Bonser, Sandia, Texas; 1 Brother-In-Law, Bob Duke, Oklahoma City, OK; 11 Nieces and Nephews, Caleb Perkins, Amanda Servais, Travis Suttle, Sara Suttle, Jayson Bonser, Clayton Bonser, Robby Bonser, Angie Ivey, Kari Robertson, Bailey Armstrong and Daniel Watkins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
