Glen Leroy Cockrell was born March 7, 1937 to Helen (Sadler) and Tim Roosevelt Cockrell at their home in Durham, Oklahoma. He passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 21 days.
 

Glen grew up at Durham, Oklahoma, on a wheat farm raising cattle. In the summers, his family custom combined starting in Texas and finishing up in Colorado. Glen graduated from Durham High School in 1955. Glen attended Panhandle State University for 2 years then transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University graduating in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in business. Glen began his teaching career at Reydon, Oklahoma at a salary of $3250.00 a year. He taught, and coached at Reydon for 15 years. During this time, he met Frankie Dodson. Glen and Frankie were married August 13, 1963, at the Methodist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. They were married for over 54 years and to this union were born 2 sons, Timmy Lynn and Jerry Wayne. After Glen retired from teaching and coaching, they moved to Durham, Oklahoma, where they continued to farm and ranch and custom combine in the summers. Glen loved to work every day. He would start early in the morning and finish up late in the evening. One of the things he enjoyed most was riding horses with his two sons.
 

Along with his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Roy Eugene Cockrell (infant), Dale Cockrell, Donald Cockrell and Leo Cockrell.
 

Glen is survived by his wife, Frankie, of the home; his 2 sons, Timmy Lynn Cockrell, Durham, OK and Jerry Wayne Cockrell and wife, Kimberly, Durham, OK; 3 granddaughters, Kylee Renee' Dellinger, and husband, Robert, Durant, OK, Kyra Jo Travis, Durham, OK and Ashton Paige Cockrell, Reydon, OK; 1 great granddaughter, Cadence Renee' Norseworthy, Durant, OK; 2 sisters, Melba Higgins, Amarillo, TX and Wanda Estes, Mobeetie, TX and many relatives and friends.
