Marguerite Baker was born March 15, 1922 in Roll, Oklahoma to Mable E. and Henry Hagan Beavin. She passed away March 21, 2017 at Durham, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years and 6 days.
Marguerite grew up in the Roll community where she attended schools. She was married to Henry Wilbur Baker at Sayre, Oklahoma on August 20, 1938 and to this union 3 children were born: Janice, Ronald and James. They lived in the Durham area until 1948 when they moved to Beaver, Oklahoma. In 1964 they moved back to the Durham area where they made their home. Marguerite was a member of the United Methodist Church and after her retirement her passion became quilting. She also enjoyed doing community work and helping with church dinners and especially making bread.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, James Henry Baker; one grandson, Brandon Baker; one great grandson, Trent Brown; 1 great granddaughter, Ashton Trescott; 3 sisters, Aubrey Colgan, Leona Keahey and Eva June Dickason.
She is survived by her 2 children, Janice Vincent, Weatherford, OK and Ron Baker and wife, Margie, Durham, OK; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Pauline Culmer, Bella Vista, AR and a host of relatives and friends.
