Opal Fae Caudle Allen was born November 20, 1928 west of Leedey, Oklahoma to Vera and William Caudle. She passed away September 25, 2003 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 20 months and 8 days.
Opal attended Five Star and Breezy Meadow schools.
The family moved east of Roll, Oklahoma where she graduated from Crawford High School in 1945.
She was married to Jack Allen at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on June 16, 1945. Opal and Jack moved to the Crawford community to make their home.
She worked all of her life on their ranch where she pulled broom corn, cotton and fed the cows.
Opal and Jack taught their children to work hard and to give their all at whatever they were doing.
She loved to cook and was the happiest when she was feeding large groups like their field hands and her family.
She was a member of the Durham First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband; one infant grandson, Justin; and one granddaughter, Skyla Roark and her husband, Michael.
She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Sue Kirk and husband Wallice of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; five sons, Jimmy Allen and wife, Becky of Crawford, Oklahoma; Jodie Allen and wife, Barbara of Erick, Oklahoma; Johnnie Allen and wife Glenda of Harmon, Oklahoma; Jerry Allen and wife, Nancy of Crawford, Oklahoma; Jackie Allen and wife, Pat of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; her mother, Vera Caudle of Roll, Oklahoma; three sisters, Dorothy Smith of Roll, Oklahoma; Florence Burgess of Amarillo, Texas; Kay Caudle of Roll, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Durham Community Building, officiated by Ray Smart and Terry Beals.
Burial followed at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
