Florence Fox, daughter of Bert and Della Fox was born February 15, 1903 near Butler, Oklahoma and passed away December 31, 1990 in the South Community Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 87 years.
When Florence was a small girl the family moved to the Canadian community northwest of Leedey.
She attended school at the Shirley School.
On September 15, 1921 she was united in marriage to Otto Brown at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The young couple established their home in the Canadian community where they lived all their wedded life.
They had two children, one son, Cary Brown and wife Jean of Oklahoma City; and one daughter, Wilma Jean Williamson of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Mary Ann Highfill of Meeker, Oklahoma; and Amy Smith of McLoud, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leedey. She lived a true Christian life.
She is survived by one sister Ruth Walker of Farmington, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Della Fox; and four brothers, Arthur, Lee, Floyd and Paul Fox; and three sisters Mary Quattlebaum, Verna Shroeder and Vera Luper.
Florence's life was devoted to loving and caring for her family.
Services were held January 2, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Leedey with Rev. Sam Dyer and Rev. Kenneth Gamble officiating.
Burial followed in Shirley Cemetery northwest of Leedey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Shaw Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
