Mary Fronia Simpson Branson was born January 9, 1908 in the Rose Hill community and passed away July 8, 1988 in the Four Seasons Nursing Center in Austin, Texas at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 29 days.
Mary Fronia, the daughter of Albert and Mary Jane Simpson, attended school in Sayre and later in 1930 she married Cecil Branson and they lived in the Roger Mills and Beckham counties until 1940 when they moved to West Texas to make their home. She then moved to Austin, Texas in 1986 to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the Karnack, Texas United Methodist Church and served as secretary of the Women's Society for Christian Services.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Alice Shearer of Austin, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil, Jr. and Olga of Kingwood, Texas; John and Londa of Richardson, Texas; Jerry and Jane of Roby, Texas; one sister, Beulah McLean of Pampa, Texas; one brother, H. H. "Buck" Simpson of Berkeley, California; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services were held in the Cheyenne United Methodist Church, Sunday, July 10, 1988 at 2:30 p.m. with John Stow officiating.
Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
