Lorena Tylene McCracken, 68-year-old resident of Leedey, OK, passed from this life on May 15, 2018 in her home.
Tylene was born August 19, 1949 to Stell J. and Lorena B. (Swank) McLean in Elk City, OK. She grew up in Leedey and graduated from Leedey High School as Valedictorian in the class of 1967. Tylene attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1971. On June 2, 1972, Tylene married John R. McCracken in Nardin, OK. and to this union one son was born, Stell. They lived in Midwest City from 1972 to 1975 and Choctaw, OK until 2000. Tylene was a math teacher in Midwest City from 1972 until her retirement in 2000. She and John then moved to Leedey, OK. Tylene was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association and the National Education Association. She was a member of the Methodist Church where she attended in Leedey. Tylene will be greatly missed by many.
Tylene is preceded in death by her parents Stell and Lorena McLean.
She is survived by her husband of the home John R.
McCracken; son Stell T. McCracken of Washington, OK; sister Lana
Carpenter and husband Steve of Tecumseh, OK; brothers-in-law Charles
McCracken and wife Carol and Harvey Reeg and wife Barbara;
sister-in-law Jean Sneary; one aunt, many nieces, nephews, and a
host of friends.
