Lettie Elizabeth Lowry was born January 18, 1888 at Fate, Texas and departed this life December 31, 1947 at Hereford, Texas at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 21 days.
At the age of twelve years she was united with the Baptist church. She was a loyal Christian and devoted mother, and was loved by all who knew her.
On October 2, 1904 at Tessa, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to John Moses Stewart.
To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive, Jimmie Stewart of Cleburne, Texas; Tom Stewart of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Clyde and Johnny Stewart of Hammon; Mrs. Clellia Schroer of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mrs. Allie Smith of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Mrs. Dessie Mae Webb and Mrs. Cleo Taylor of Hammon, Oklahoma.
She is also survived her husband; eleven grandchldren; four sisters, Winnie White of Wellington, Texas; Mrs. Clellia Jones of Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. Sadie Franks of Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. Lucille Perryman of Hereford, Texas; and three brothers, Chester Lowry of Hereford, Texas; Ernest Lowry of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Howard Lowry of Amarillo, Texas.
