David (Sparkie) Harold Sparks, 75 year old former resident of Hammon, OK, passed from this life on February 11, 2020 in Weatherford, OK.

David was born August 22, 1944 to Roy and Mabel (Jefferies) Sparks in Wetumka, OK. David served in the Army National Guard from January 23, 1963 to January 22, 1969 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant.
On April 21, 1964, he married Shirley Sparks in Cordell, OK and to this union three children were born Kevin, Sherry, and Debbie. David and Shirley made their home in Hammon, OK and have lived there for 56 years. David worked in the oilfield and also owned his own business, Sparkie’s Trailer Repair. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hammon and was baptized at the age of 55. David was known for his love for his family and his favorite pastime was spending time with the grandkids.

David is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mabel Sparks, son Kevin Sparks, and three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Sparks of Weatherford, OK; two daughters Sherry Sparks of Midwest City, OK and Debbie Scott and husband James of Hammon, OK; three grandchildren Darin Scott of Hammon, OK, Dylan Scott and wife Corianne of Foss, OK, and Devin Scott and wife Madeline of Joplin, MO; one great granddaughter Emery Blake Scott; extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m at the Hammon First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be available on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey, as well as Saturday at the church prior to the service.
