Winery Funeral Service

Voncile Pritchard passed from this life on Sunday, November 5th, 2017, at the age of 89.

Voncile, or Von as she preferred, was the first of three children born to Ernest and Dixie (Nickels) Lovelace on September 11, 1928 in Hammon, Oklahoma. She grew up attending school at Union Center and graduated from Hammon High School in 1947. After graduation, she worked for Union Center Schools as a cook and it was there that she developed her skill making her famous hot rolls, later referred to by her grandchildren as "Grandma Bread." Von married Alva Curtis Prichard on October 23, 1949, in Elk City. They began raising their family on the farm Northwest of Hammon. In 1954, the growing family moved to Wichita, Kansas where Alva worked for Boeing Aircraft for the next 20 years. During this time, Von stayed very busy as a homemaker and raising their five children. After Alva's retirement in 1974, they moved back to the family farm where they worked side by side taking care of their cattle and raising a garden each year. Von always enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and cooking delicious meals for her family. She loved her kids and grand kids and cherished time spent with them. Alva and Von enjoyed many happy years together on the farm until Alva's passing in 1993. Von continued to run the cattle until her health wouldn't permit. Von was a longtime member of the Hammon Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 43 years, Alva.

Von is survived by her five children: Curtis Pritchard and wife, Shelley of Buckley, WA; Jim Pritchard and wife, Jeannie, of Sand Springs, OK; Linda Van Orden and husband, James, of Alex, OK; Gregg Pritchard and wife, Connie, of Decatur, AL; Penny Shockey and husband, Roger, of Elk City, OK. 13 grandchildren: Amy, Eric, Brent, Cara, Josh, Jena, Ryan, Jonathan, Brooke, Jessica, Kevin, Jarek, and David, and 16 great grandchildren. 2 brothers: Boyd Lovelace and wife, Phyllis, of Weslaco, TX; Bill Lovelace and wife, Dorothy, of Clinton, OK; sister-in-law: Voncile Morrow of Hammon, OK; a very special cousin Karl Lovelace and wife, June of Hammon, OK, and a host of other family and friends.

The family requests that in Lieu of flowers that donations be made to In Search of The Lord's Way television program, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083.
