Funeral services were held for Claudie Estes Parks at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City on July 20, 1989. Military graveside rites were given by the U.S. Army Officers of Fort Sill.
He was born October 13, 1922 in Hammon and died July 17, 1989 at the age of 66.
He attended school at Hammon and graduated from Cheyenne High School.
He then entered a tech-welding training school in California.
He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served in World War II, and Korean Occupational Forces and also in Okinawa. Following his discharge he worked for NASA in Houston, Texas; Perth, Australia and Denver, Colorado. He then worked for Beech Aircraft, retiring ten years ago when he moved to Perryton, Texas.
Mr. Parks was a veteran of 23 years of military service.
He is survived by his father, Claude Parks of Skellyton, Texas; one brother, David Bruce Parks of Oswego, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Corrine Braves of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Cleta Stall of Skellytown, Texas; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
