Thomas Micheal "Mike" Elliott was born March 19, 1958 in Elk City,
Oklahoma to Tommie and Bonnie Elliott.
He left his earthly home and
went to be with Jesus on November 17, 2002.
Mike was raised on a farm west of Hammon and attended Hammon School
graduating in 1976. During his high school years, Mike loved to
compete on the school Pasture and Range Judging team. During those
years, the team won many State and Nattional awards.
Following
high school, Mike married Linda Gayle King in Elk City, Oklahoma on
September 16, 1977.
The couple made their home in Elk City. In
1980, they moved their young family to Hammon.
Mike first worked in the oil field as a driller for Wilson Brothers.
Later he and Linda ran a dairy and he built fence as a side job.
Eventually, they sold the dairy but he continued his fence building
operation and built fence right up to his last day on earth.
Mike
loved to hunt, fish and camp out.
Most of all, he loved spending
time with his wife and kids. He enjoyed helping his kids get their
stock ready for livestock shows and encouraged them in all their
endeavors.
Mike and Linda celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary
on September 18.
Mike served on the Roger Mills County Fair Board and was a member of
the First Baptist Church.
He was the Past President of the
Oklahoma Guernsey Association. He also raised AKC Weimaraners.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Bonnie Elliott;
and a brother in law, Doug King.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two sons, Cody Lynn
of Oklahoma City; and Casey Micheal of Hammon; and two daughters,
Kerri Michelle and Kristen Gayle of the home; two sisters, Katherine
Moseley and her husband Don of Trinity, Texas; and Jean Hollingsworth
and her husband Eulon of Hammon; three brothers, Bigie Rhea and
his wife Lou Ann of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Billie Rhea of Cheyenne;
and Millard Elliott and his wife Shirley of Hammon; two sisters-in-
law Patty Walker and her husband Pat of Canadian, Texas; and Cindy
King of Midwest City; his in-law, Midge and Ray Smith of Elk
City; and Don and Gerri King of Fairfield, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services for Thomas Micheal Elliott were conducted
Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist
Church of Hammon with Rev. Dolan Ivey and Rev. Stan Baker
officiating.
Interment followed in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon,
Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin
Funeral Home of Elk City.
