Edward Arthur Clifft, Jr., was born on February 15, 1939 in Hammon, the son of Edward Arthur and Grace Fields Clifft, and died Wednesday, January 20, 1993 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 53.

Mr. Clifft was a graduate of Hammon High School and he made annual trips to Hammon for the Hammon High School reunion.

He served in the United States Army in France.

After leaving the service, he was employed by the Hartford Insurance Company for a number of years before going to work for the Kennedy Insurance Company. Until his death, he was employed by the Property Insurance Company.

Mr. Clifft was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was very close to his family and was always supportive of them. He was a devoted father and brother.

He is survived by one son, Stephen Clifft of Oklahoma City; one brother, Jimmie Clifft of Hammon; and three sisters, Loretta McFarland of Lincoln, California; Irene Tipps of Ardmore; Voncille Beecham of Elk City; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vinolla Voltz.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, in the Savage-Whinery Chapel with burial following in Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Savage-Whinery Funeral Service of Elk City.
