Dora Elva Creswell Clifft was born May 7, 1905 in Hammon, Oklahoma to Lucy and J. L. Creswell and passed away July 4, 1998 in the Ganden Huetten Nursing Home in Lehighton, Pennsylvania at the age of 93.
Elva was the widow of Carl G. Clifft, who passed away in 1982.
She was a graduate of West Texas Teacher's College and a member of the American Association of University Women.
Mrs. Clifft taught school for a short time before becoming a full time homemaker.
She was a life long member of the Park Hills Christian Church {Disciples of Christ} in El Paso, Texas where she and her husband lived for many years.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Hite.
She is survived by her daughter, Janelle Sherman of Summit Hill, Pennsylvania; one sister, Hazel Webb of Canyon, Texas; her granddaughters; nine great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m.Thursday, July 9, 1998 at the Red Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Gene Spillman of Elk City First Christian Church.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home and the casket will be closed at the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Home.
