Funeral services were held August 29, 1984 at the Church of God in Elk City for Emma Zetta Burgess, former Hammon resident.

Mrs. Burgess died August 27, 1984 in the Community Hospital at the age of 94.

She moved to Custer county near Colter when she was a small girl.

She was married to Thomas Joshua Burgess on October 5, 1909 in Elk City. Mr. Burgess preceded her in death on June 20, 1936.

She made her home in Elk City since 1960.

She is survived by one son, Gene Burgess of Berkley, California; one daughter, Orel Walters of Berkley, California; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and two brothers.

Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery at Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
