Funeral services for Hoy Merton Boal, who died in Community Hospital Wednesday, November 21, 1973, were conducted from the Hammon Methodist Church Friday, November 23, 1973 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Allen Wilson of Moorewood and Rev. Richard Igo, the pastor officiating. He was 73.
Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Boal was born in Eskridge, Kansas, December 13, 1899.
He came to the Hammon area with his parents when he was one year old. His parents homesteaded a farm northwest of Hammon, and he had lived in the Hammon area ever since, where he was engaged in farming before retiring and moving into Hammon.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was first married to Malessa Mae Clark in June, 1918, at Hammon. She preceded him in death August 5, 1942.
They were the parents of two sons, Hoy Boal of Colton, California and Troy Boal of San Diego, California.
On January 21, 1944, he was united in marriage to the former Grace Crump in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Grace of the home; two grandchildren, Jeffery and James Boal, both of San Diego; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Dick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
