James Lewis Allen, 65, of Chickasha, Oklahoma was born June 14, 1922 in Blair, Oklahoma.
He was the son of James Bynum Allen and Eva Delsa Lewis Allen.
He died December 22, 1987 in Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the College Heights Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rev. Bart Montgomery officiating.
Mr. Allen married Fern Cope in Hammon, Oklahoma December 24, 1941, following graduation from Pie Flat High School near Hammon.
He served in the United States Army in World War II in Canada, Alaska, England, France and Germany.
After the war, he farmed and worked as a mechanic.
He came to Chickasha in July, 1973 from Gallup, New Mexico. He farmed and owned and operated the Allen Tune-Right automotive.
He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and was a deacon and a Sunday school department director.
He was former vice president of the Optimist Club and was on the board of directors.
He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge at Hammon.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors are his wife, Fern, of the home; children, Jim and Nadine Allen of Chickasha; Larry and Judy Allen of Grand Prairie, Texas; nine grandchildren; his mother, Eva Allen of Elk City; three sisters, Wanda Stalcup of Hammon; Laverne Walton of Elk City and Sue Flick of Hammon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the College Heights Baptist Church Family Living Center Fund.
