Jack W Thompson

Born: November 02, 1929
Died: June 07, 2016
Jack W Thompson was born November 2, 1929 to Floyd Senior and Mary Baker Thompson at their home near Coldwater, KS and passed away June 7, 2016 at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 5 days.
Jack was married to Virginia Tubb in 1949. Gaylord and Royce were born to this marriage. While bricking a house in the Grimes community, Jack met the love of his life, Janice. On February 21, 1961 Jack and Janice married and he gained his first daughter Laurie Montgomery and the arrival of Melanie made the family complete.
Jack worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS painting airplanes and learned to be a brick mason after hours. He has left a legacy of brick work in four states and he laid brick for more than 56 years. In 1961 the family moved to the farm where he found his calling: farming and raising cattle. The rest is history.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Donald, and baby boy Thompson,4 sisters, Madeline, Elnora, Melva, Opal and Wonieta and a beloved grandson, David Coffin.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Ballou Thompson, 5 children, Gaylord Thompson and wife, Mary, Royce Thompson and wife, Sherri, David Lingle and wife, Margo which he learned about when he was 80 years old, Laurie Cannon and husband Jerry, Melanie Coffin and husband, Gary. He is also survived by his sisters, Margie Hayes, Erick, OK, Ann Cook, Estcada, OR; brothers, Floyd Thompson Jr. and wife, Ruby, Coldwater, KS, John Thompson and wife, Jan, Independence, KS and Marvin Thompson and wife, Cheryl, Cherryvale, KS, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Children's and Youth programs at the Washita Cowboy Fellowship, POB 51, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, 73628.
