Edgar R. Smith died Wednesday, March 8, 1899 at 1:30 p.m. after being shot by one of the men, Ed Wibins, Frank Smith or Herrington.....Captain W. T. Smith of Taylor, Texas, father of Edgar Smith is in Cheyenne.

Gordon and Oscar Smith, brothers of Edgar are also here accompanied by the widow of the deceased Edgar Smith.
