James Edward Peery who resided in the Berlin community for a number of years died July 4, 1945 at Miami, Oklahoma.
He was born in Missouri May 17, 1867.
In 1897 he was married to Carrie Stocker.
Mrs. Peery and their one son, William was burned to death in a prairie fire near Berlin in 1900, and are buried in Berlin cemetery.
He was married to Mrs. Loretta Mabb in August 1901. She preceded him in death in 1944.
He is survived by one son, Clifford Peery of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lucille Mabb-Witting of Sioux City, Iowa; and three grand daughters; as well as other relatives and friends.
