Dale Granger "Pud" Mackey

Dale Granger "Pud" Mackey was born January 24, 1929 in Sayre to Paul F. and Alice Emma Miller Mackey and died Thursday morning at the age of 68.

Pud was born and raised in Beckham county north of Sayre where he lived his entire life.

He graduated from Berlin High School and was married to Evelyn Plummer on November 30, 1947 at the Plummer residence in Roger Mills county.

Pud spent his entire working career as a farmer and rancher with his boyhood desire of working the red earth.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of the home; four children, Alice Elaine Hand and her husband, Larry of Claremore; Larry Dale Mackey and his wife, Carla of Sayre; Chris Mackey and his wife, Peggy of Sayre; Neil Mackey and his wife, Delna of Allen, Texas; one brother, Darrell Mackey and his wife, Lovell of Sayre; and two step-sisters, Alene Robertson of Sayre; and Effie Hughes of Oregon; one step-brother, Bud Passmore of Sayre; fourteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends.

Pud was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ruthy; a son, Carl Eugene Mackey; and one sister, Ernestine Buchanan.
