John B. Blann Sr., of Williford, Arkansas departed this life February 16, 1992 at his residence, at age 78 years, 1 month and 12 days. He was born January 14, 1914, near Fargo, Oklahoma, the son of Otis Green and Mary Pearl Batchelor Blann.
John moved with his parents to Cheyenne, Oklahoma, where he grew to manhood.
Later John lived at Fargo, Oklahoma and Tempe, Arizona before being inducted into the Military Service.
He was married to Henrietta Matelda Puchta Taylor on September 10, 1945 in Covington, Kentucky.
John was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II.
He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Dorral, and Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Matilda Blann; five sons, John B. Blann Jr. pf Killeen, Texas; William H. Blann of Booneville, Arkansas; Charles Joe Blann of Texarkana, Arkansas; George Green Blann of Williamford, Arkansas; five daughters, Laura Rose Holder of Ravenden, Arkansas; Henrietta Matilda Morgan of Texarkana, Arkansas; Mary Pearl Stanley of Texarkana, Arkansas; two stepsons, Donald Orr Taylor of Tempe, Arizona; Clarence Edward Taylorof Medfrod, Oregon; one stepdaughter, Anna Mae Wilson of Frederic, Wisconsin; thirty three grandchildren and twenty one great grand children; two sisters, Viola Burns of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and Violet Stricker of Woodward, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 29, 1992, 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Baptist Church near Ravenden, Arkansas, with Bill Diles, Church of Christ preacher, officiating. Military graveside services were conducted.
Interment in Lone Oak Cemetery, Ravendon, Arkansas, under direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.
Pall bearers were Robert Blann, Robert Holder, John Smith, Luther Smith, Mark Benson and Roger Bailey.
