Services were held Saturday October 21, 2000 in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for Edith Blankenship, 99, who passed away October 18, 2000 in Bakersfield. Pastor John officiated.

Mrs. Blankenship was born December 16, 1900 in Pecan Gap, Texas. In 1980 she and her husband Sid came to Bakersfield from Hammon, Oklahoma where she lived practically all her life.

She is survived by her son, Donald L. Melton of Oildale; granddaughters, Melanie Dodd of Vallejo and Valarie Dupuy of Estonton, Georgia; three great grandchildren and sister, Joye Brevik of Las Vegas, Nevada.
