Wayne Alanson Davis was born May 12, 1917 at Meridian in Roger Mills County and passed away June 24, 1988 in the Elk City Community Hospital at the age of 71 years. Wayne son of William Alanson and Parl Mona Davis was raised in the Sweetwater/Meridian communities where he attended school at Meridian.
He married Beuna Zeal Kingham in Sayre, Oklahoma on July 4, 1936. They made their home in the Sweetwater community. Wayne made a life's career in farming and ranching retiring in 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Beuna of the home; two sons and daughters-in- law, Melvin and Carolyn Davis of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Jerry and Orna Fay Davis of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; two sisters, Theota Dowdell of Sayre and Ada Ruth Diggs of Separman, Texas; four grandchildren, Jackie and Curtis Broaddus of Pampa, Texas; Julie and Bryan Frost of Pampa, Texas; Terrill and Cathy Davis of Ocala, Florida; Heather Davis of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Brooks and Holly Broaddus of Pampa, Texas and Amie Eliabeth Davis of Ocala, Florida.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 27, 1988 at the Sweetwater Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Steve Vernon and Ross Anderson officiating.Burial was in the Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Rose chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
