Billy was born on June 6, 1932 to his parents Billy and Eva Cotts of Sweetwater, OK. He grew up on a cotton farm in Sweetwater. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Air force during the Korean War for four years. He achieved four stripes and became a staff sergeant. He married his wife, Shirley Zamber in 1957. Billy worked for Grumman Aerospace Corporation in Long Island, New York. He was recognized and promoted throughout his career. In 1969 Grumman moved him to Point Mugu, California where he became an Electrical Aerospace Technician working on F-14 fighter jets. After retirement he wrote and published a book called Comedies and Tragedies, which was inspired by his early life living in rural Oklahoma. In his later years, he and his wife enjoyed road trips visiting their children and grandchildren. They recently celebrated their sixty-two-year anniversary. Billy and his beloved wife resided in their Ruskin, Florida home where they enjoyed the beautiful sunny Florida beaches together.
