Harvey grew up on the family farm near Sweetwater. He spent a couple years in school in California before returning to Sweetwater where he finished. Upon finishing school he enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas where he was a track vehicle mechanic. After his discharge he began his career in the oil field where he worked for Otis, Getty Oil and Cudd where he worked until April of 2017 when his health forced his retirement. During this time he was married to Linda Kay (Alexander) Banks at Sweetwater, Oklahoma on May 14, 1983. After their marriage they spent some time in Old Glory, Texas before making their home in Sweetwater, Oklahoma where they raised their family. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marjorie Deene Banks, grandson, Jayce Coty Lohberger, uncle, W.T. Banks and one nephew, James Banks.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; 4 children, Eric Lohberger and wife, Sheila, Sweetwater, OK, Justin Lohberger and wife, Brandi, Elk City, OK, Dawn Case, Sweetwater, OK and Banks Timmons, Sweetwater, OK; 10 grandchildren, Dusty, Niki, Drayton, Morgin, Landon, Parker, Colton, Carson, Cash and Aubree; 2 sisters, Donna Stafford, Midwest City, OK and Lesa Reed and husband, Paul, Erick, OK; 2 brothers, Loy Banks, Erick, OK and Dennis Banks and wife, Teresa, Elk City, OK; his aunt, Marjorie Banks, Yuba City, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
