Henry D. Baggett born 6 October 1872 and his wife Kate Raye Pritchett born 25 February 1875 were both born in San Augustine County, Texas and were married there on 4 December 1892. During their more than 60 years of married life they lived in San Augustine, Ironsa, Texas where children Lucius Harold, Mack Bonda, James Everett, Newman V., Eela Mae and John Walter were born. The family moved to Panola County, Texas in 1901 where Terrence I. "Ted" and Eula were born. The family moved to western Oklahoma in 1906 where children Cecil D., Acie W., Fern, Lorene and Voyne were born.
The Baggett family had five sons in service in World War I. Their lives were spared except for Lucius Harold who died at Naval Hospital at Mare Island, California from influenza.
When World War II came, three more sons entered military service. The youngest son, Richard Voyne, was killed in action in Sicily.
