Danny was riding with his grandfather Robert D. Burrows double in saddle when their horse stumbled and fell back on them. Danny died from the impact of the saddle horn near his heart. This was a terrible tragedy for the family and followed soon after the death of Cathy Ann Burrows. Danny died 30 August 1973. Reverend Juanice Parkhurst of Strong City, Oklahoma and Reverend Romayne Dodd of Duncan, Oklahoma officiating. The Reverend Dodd was a brother to Mrs. R. D. Burrows. The pallbearers were: Jack Thompson, Henry Andrews, J. C. Sullivan and Wayne Parkhurst. Final resting place, Kiowa Cemetery.
