Lovetta Lorene (Wood) Gault was born September 16, 1930 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Ollie May and James Asa Wood. She went to be with her Lord October 21, 2012 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 5 days.

Lorene went to school at Midway until 1945 and continued her schooling at Durham where she graduated in 1949. She was a very talented musician and could play any instrument placed in her hands, even though she never had any music lessons. She loved playing gospel songs on her guitar or piano.

Lorene married Allen Andrew Gault on September 12, 1962. They lived in Leedey and Woodward until 1977. Lorene and Allen moved to the Ollie Wood farm near Reydon after the death of her mother to care for her brother, Buster, and sister, Marie. Lorene spent some time with her brother J.A. in Oklahoma City before moving to Cheyenne to make her home.

Lorene lovingly cared for her brothers, Buster and Joe, and sisters, Marie and Nellie before their deaths.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, James Leroy, Buster and Joe Wood; 4 sisters, Lula May Wood, Nellie Hartley, Lenzie Marie Wood and Maxine Rundblad and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her brother, J.A. Wood and friend, Thelma Rose, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sisters, Barbara Cloyd and husband, Eddie, Elk City, OK and Pearline Cowan, Ft. Bragg, CA and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at Reydon First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ron Henning.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Durham under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
