Alexander F. Cochran, 91 of Solomon, Kansas passed away Tuesday evening September 3, 2002 at the Smokey Hills Rehab Center, Salina, Kansas.
He was born August 18, 1911 at Lucedale, Mississippi. The son of William and Elma McNair Cochran. He lived most of his life in Odessa, Texas and worked all his life as an oil driller. He was united in marriage with Maggie Howell on December 24, 1935 in Lucedale, Mississippi. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by 3 sons, Larry of Gilmer, Texas, Hollis of Crescent, Oklahoma, and Russel Cochran of Solomon, one daughter, Jane Hindman of Durham, Oklahoma. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, and one sister, Wilma Mitchell of Hammon, Louisiana.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Hilton.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The Carlson- Becker Funeral Home, Solomon, Kansas is handling local arrangements.
