John Clay was born in north central Missouri in 1868, and passed away November 5th, 1954 in Pampa, Texas.
He was married to Cora Leona Miller in 1889. To this union was born 12 children. His wife preceded him in death.
Survivors include Charlie Clay and Ellen Flesher of Pampa, Texas, Loyd Clay, Opal Funston, and Howard Clay, all of Medford, Oregon; Ivy Clay of Medford, Oklahoma; Susie Butler, La Monte, Missouri; Ray Clay of Canyon, Texas; Faye Briggs of Shamrock, Texas, and John Fred Clay of Crawford, Oklahoma. He also reared a grandson, John Clay Gutterman of the Navy; 28 other grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive.
His body was brought to Durham, Oklahoma for services and he was laid to rest beside his wife in Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma
