Ruth A. Campbell Olson was born October 29, 1914 in Berlin, Oklahoma to Maud and Clifon Campbell. She passed away May 7, 2009 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Ruth grew up in the Berlin community and attended Berlin school.
She was married to Leon Olson at Sayre, Oklahoma on July 1, 1933 and they moved to the Grimes community to make their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant sister; three other sisters, Myrtle, Hattie and Ruby; and one brother, John.
Survived by her four sons, Ben Olson and wife, Sue of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Ole Olson and wife, Andrine of Amarillo, Texas; Jim Olson and wife, Jean of Plainview, Texas; and Kenneth Olson and wife, Charlene of Lubbock, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; three sisters, Freda Turbyfill of Madill, Oklahoma; and Nadine Morgan of Elk City, Oklahoma; and Iris Adams of Carter, Oklahoma; two brothers, Kenneth "Chub" Campbell of Berlin, Oklahoma; and Audy "Cork" Campbell of Berlin, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Chapel officiated by Andy Taylor. Burial followed at Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Sevice.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her extended family, the nurses and staff of the Extended Care Wing at Sayre Memorial Hospital.
